As you may already know, I love to bake. And I love the holidays. And I f****** love cookies. So ya, making holiday cookies is one of my favorite things ever. Today I have a roundup of the 15 (I know, I know, it sounds excessive but who cares) cookies I’m going to be making this holiday season. These are by far some of my favorite recipes from some of my favorite food blogs, and I can honestly tell you they’re all amazing.
- Holiday Cut Out Cookies from Shadow & Gloss - Ok fine, so I had to start with one of my own recipes. But this is the only cut out sugar cookie recipe you will ever need. They hold their shape, taste so good, and are so easy to ice and decorate.
- Peanut Butter Cookies from Live Well Bake Often - I understand that this recipe does not make a ton of cookies. BUT these cookies are so good that I would rather make 6 batches of these cookies then try any other recipe.
- Double Chocolate M&M Cookies from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe - These chocolate cookies are literally addicting, and the M&Ms make them so much fun.
- Brown Butter Salted Caramel Snickerdoodles from Two Peas And Their Pod - Umm, just make these - they’re delicious.
- Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies from Half Baked Harvest - These are a delicious and chocolate-y take on regular oatmeal raisin cookies.
- White Chocolate Dipped Ginger Cookies from Cooking Classy - Umm, if these aren’t the definition of holiday cookies, I don’t know what is.
- Peppermint Mocha Blossoms from Damn Delicious - I don’t even like mocha or peppermint and I still think these are a delicious holiday treat.
- Soft and Chewy Snickerdoodles from Our Best Bites - Snickerdoodles always have a place on our holiday cookie tray, and these cookies are beyond delicious.
- Hot Chocolate Cookies from Averie Cooks - Winter’s favorite drink in cookie form - it really doesn’t get better than this.
- Linzer Cookies from A Bountiful Kitchen - A cookie with jam is essential to any holiday cookie tray - this is by far one of the best ones I’ve ever tried.
- Gingerbread Men Cookies from Browneyed Baker - If you like rockhard gingerbread cookies, this is not the recipe for you. I, on the other hand, love soft and chewy cookies so this recipe is perfect.
- Chocolate Crinkle Cookies from Gimme Some Oven - Can we say chocolate overload? These are amazing + the powdered sugar looks like snow making them extra festive.
- Chewy Brown Sugar Cookies from Sally’s Baking Addiction - These are such simple cookies but filled with so much flavor.
- Caramel Filled Dark Chocolate Cookies from Whole Bite Blog - Caramel and chocolate means that these are beyond dangerous. But good dangerous.
- Pecan Cookies from Shadow & Gloss - Ok another one from me, but if this is a must bake. They're buttery and chewy and thin and just amazing.
You may notice that I didn’t include a chocolate chip cookie recipe. My hunt to find the PERFECT chocolate chip cookie is still happening and I can’t commit to saying any recipe is THE BEST COOKIE EVER yet, I still have like 20 more recipes and variations to try. You think I’m joking but I actually have a document on my computer titled “The Chocolate Chip Cookie Experiment”. It’s pretty legit, a whole spreadsheet with comments and information. So don’t worry, i’ll keep you posted on how the search goes. Make sure to comment below any of your must bake cookies for the holidays - I’d love some more ideas. Also if you think you have the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe, LET ME KNOW and I will love you forever.
XOXO,
Gloss
