It's cold. Tears. But I love hot chocolate. So it’s ok. I guess. Today I have a super simple and fun way to make hot chocolate. This is perfect to give as a gift or just to enjoy by yourself!
Ingredients:
- Plastic spoons
- Wax paper
- 9 oz. Milk Chocolate (chips or bars)
- 7 oz. Semi-sweet chocolate (chips or bars)
- ½ cup cocoa
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ⅛ tsp salt
- Yummy toppings - try marshmallows, coconut flakes, crushed candy canes, or drizzled white chocolate.
Directions:
- Combine the cocoa, powdered sugar and salt in a bowl and set aside.
- Cut the chocolate into small pieces and combine into a glass bowl. Microwave in 30 seconds increments, stirring in between each one. Stop as soon as the chocolate is melted to make sure it doesn’t burn.
- Pour the melted chocolate into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir together.
- Stir the spoons into the chocolate and make sure they are completely covered.
- Now decorate! Try putting on some marshmallows or crushed candy canes! Or anything!
- Place on wax paper and leave them until the chocolate hardens. This should be about 15-25 minutes in the fridge.
- To enjoy, heat up a cup of milk and stir the spoon in. For a stronger taste, try using 2 spoons! They will take about 3-5 minutes to dissolve. To give as a gift, just wrap them up in cellophane.
So this is my hot chocolate spoon recipe! It’s delicious, super simple, and a great gift. Share pics of your spoons with us for a chance to featured on social media!
XOXO,
Gloss
