Hi guys!
Wow! Happy January. I hope you all had an incredible new year. One of my favorite parts of the new year is finding out all of my favorite influencer’s beauty picks from the last year. Every year, so many products come out and it can be incredibly overwhelming. I love yearly favorites because it shows the best of the best. In today’s post, I will share my beauty favorites with you, and on Friday I will share my skincare/haircare/bodycare favorites with you.
I listed the products in the order in which I would apply them to my face!
Too Faced Hangover RX Primer- This product is a favorite among influencers in the beauty community. I love the way my foundation sits on my skin when I use this. Since I have dry/combo skin, the primer hydrates my dry skin leaving it soft and prepped for foundation. The only downside to the primer is the price, in 2018 I want to find a more affordable hydrating primer that does the same thing the Too Faced one does! But until then, I will keep repurchasing.
L’oreal True Match Lumi Foundation- I LOVE this foundation. I actually am a big fan of cushion foundations in general, but this is my absolute favorite. The product sits on my skin beautifully and gives me such a natural dewy look. The coverage is a solid medium, which I love because I do not do full glam every day. Again, the only downside to this product is it’s price (c’mon L’oreal, $17 for a drugstore foundation?!?!?), but with coupons this can be a little more affordable. Another bonus is the one compact lasted me a very long time!
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer- is a great concealer for everyday use! I love the natural coverage it gives. The product lasts a long time and fades away naturally. Love this product!
Wet N’ Wild Photofocus Concealer- This is another one of my favorite concealers. I have gone through several tubes this year, which is crazy given how much makeup I own! This gives a little more coverage than the Rimmel concealer, so it is better for full-glam makeup.
Cover FX Perfect Day Setting Powder- This is hands down my favorite powder. I have tried so many this year, but I always go back to this one. It looks so smooth under your eyes, and sets/bakes product beautifully. Since it is a loose powder, it also lasts forever! I would be shocked if 2018 brings a better powder.
Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot powder is my favorite pressed powder. The product is so finely milled that it is undetectable on the skin, while still mattifying. I love using this powder to touch up throughout the day, or to lightly set my face.
The Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is such a great product. The formula is so smooth and blends seamlessly on the skin. I love the look this product gives! I use it for both contouring and bronzing.
For a drugstore bronzer, I love the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. If you have not heard about this product you must be living under a rock. This is the BEST drugstore bronzer, and just one of my all-time favorite bronzers. The formula is so smooth and buttery (like the name suggests) and blends like a dream. The powder also is not completely matte… There is no shimmer or glitter in the product, but it just gives your face a beautiful, healthy glow!
This was the year of the cream contouring for me. I did a whole post on cream contouring, and after a lot of consideration, theFenty Contour Stick in Mocha is my favorite. The formula is slightly dry, but I find that this quality helps my contour look more defined and last all day. Another bonus is that the color is beautiful. If you are not a light/medium skintone, Fenty Beauty has a huge color range!
The Hourglass Strobe Lighting Powder in Incandescent Light is such a gorgeous highlighter. I love these powders because you can make them super blinding, but also very natural depending on the day. The powder sinks into your skin and look so great on absolutely everyone!
For eyeshadows, I love all Makeup Forever Shadows. I don’t have particular favorites, but I have found that the line is very consistent. Every shadow is very pigmented, blends beautifully and looks amazing on the eye. The MUFE eyeshadow shade range is also very great! There should be a color for every single color you would ever need.
The Urban Decay Naked Basics has been a favorite for the past 4 years. The formula on Urban Decay shadows is very great, and this palette is just a must. Whenever I travel, I take this with me because it complements all looks.
The Kat Von D Metal Crush Shadow in Thunder struck is beautiful. This is the most blinding white/pink/gold eyeshadow I have ever seen. On very bold makeup days, I even use this on my cheeks as a highlighter. This single shadow will change your life.
The Kat Von D is another cult favorite on youtube. The very few times I attempt a wing liner, I use this product. The brush tip makes for easy application, and the color Trooper is very matte and very black. I have also found that the product lasts a while.
The CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara is a longtime favorite. The mascara is just everything you need—black, long lasting but not waterproof, smudge free, flake free. Another bonus around $6 at Walmart.
The last product is the Urban Decay DeSlick Setting Spray. I love this setting spray and notice such a difference when I don’t use it. This year, I tested out so many setting sprays, but nothing compared to this one. Even though it is expensive, I think it is completely worth it.
Wow. A lot of makeup products. This post was so much fun to write because I got to sit down, read old blog posts, and search through my collection to find the products I love the most.
I hope your 2018 has started on a good note.
Check back Friday for my favorite skincare products!
XOXO,
Jordan
