Things I am Thankful For

The other day, I was having a conversation with my English teacher about Thanksgiving and her traditions. We were discussing our traditions for Thursday (actual Thanksgiving) and for Black Friday. She pointed out something that I have never really thought of-- Thanksgiving, a day meant to remind you of everything you have and are thankful for, is followed by Black Friday, a day people go out and act like animals to get discounted products (her words, not mine). What my teacher said stuck with me, and I went home to talk to my friends. I realized she was so correct and that everything Black Friday stands for is the complete opposite of the purpose of Thanksgiving. For that reason, I decided that instead of sharing what I bought on Black Friday, I would share the things I am thankful for this year.

1. My education- Over the past few years, I have come to really love and appreciate my education. I love going to school everyday and broadening my knowledge. I love conversations that make my brain hurt because I know that somewhere else, someone is wishing they could get up at the crack of dawn to go to school. I got incredibly lucky, and because of this, I enjoy every moment spent learning.
2. My health- I think health is something everyone is grateful for, but I am especially thankful because I have had my fair share of issues. Your health is something you should be grateful for every single day:)
3. Moments spent with friends- Funny or sad, I love spending time with my friends. My best friends are people I can sit around and do nothing with, or go on adventures with. Any time spent with them is a good time, and I cannot thank you enough!
4. Family- I give my family so much crap, but, in reality, I would be nothing without them. My parents especially give me so much that I am so grateful for (even though I don't show it every day). My family is crazy and messed up at sometimes, but they're my family and I love them so much.
5. Sunny days- You might think I am crazy, but I love sunny days SO MUCH. I find myself so productive and happy when the weather is nice. In New York, in November, sunny days are the best because of my beautiful surroundings.

Seriously or jokingly, I would love to hear what you are thankful for this year!

Of course, I am always thankful for you. Thank you so much for reading and interacting with us. It really means so so much.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday:)

XOXO,
Jordan
