Caramel Apple Wedges

One of the funniest pictures of me from when I was younger is me sitting, eating a MASSIVE caramel apple on a stick (it was literally as big as my head) while my sister is in the background staring at me, sobbing. We don't really know why she was crying but we like to joke it's because she was jealous of my dessert lol. This whole story is just a long-winded way of me saying, I've had a love for caramel apples for a long time. But ngl, sometimes they can be a bit overwhelming. They're hard to share but only really good the day they're made. Today I though I would share a quick and simple recipe to make caramel apple slices to feed a crowd - perfect for any upcoming Halloween parties.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Granny Smith Apples
  • Milk Chocolate Melting Disks
  • White Chocolate Melting Disks
  • 1 Bag Caramel Squares (I used Kraft)
  • Assorted, Chopped, Halloween Candy and Nuts
  • Small wooden skewers or lollipop sticks

Directions:
  • Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, heat the caramel squares over medium low-heat until they are melted.
  • Cut the apples into wedges and pat dry to remove extra liquid.
  • Insert a skewer into the bottom of each apple wedge.
  • Dip each apple wedge into the melted caramel and lay on the baking sheet.
  • Drizzle milk chocolate and white chocolate over each apple wedge.
  • Sprinkle each apple wedge with various types of candy or nuts.
    • Personal Favorites: mini M&Ms or chopped snickers
  •  Serve immediately or store in the fridge until ready to serve.
  • Enjoy!

My favorite thing about this recipe (other than how easy it is), is how customizable it is! Looking for something a little more festive, use orange or green candy melts! Hate white chocolate? Use dark chocolate! Allergic to nuts? Try chopped marshmallows and crushed graham crackers.

As always, share pics of your creations with us for a chance to be featured! Also let me know in the comments some of your favorite Caramel Apple combos - I'd love some more inspiration!

XOXO,

Samantha
